Hello! I am from Minatitlan, Veracruz,
Mexico. I received the B.Eng degree (honours) from the
Instituto Tecnologico de Veracruz in Computer Systems Engineering,
in December 1992. In August 1995, I received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Instituto Tecnológico
y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey ITESM-Campus Morelos with the major in
Artificial Intelligence. My supervisor was Prof. Carlos Ruiz Suárez, a great person and friend. The title of
my thesis is: "2D Translation, Rotating and Scaling Invariante Object Recognition".
I worked during two years at the Centro de Investigación en Energía (
CIE-UNAM) as a Systems administrator.
In 2005, I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from
McGill University in Canada, where I specialized in computer vision and mobile robots at the
Centre for Intelligent Machines under the supervision of
Prof. Gregory Dudek.
Since February 2006, I live in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico working
as a full-time researcher in the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Section at the Research and Advanced
Studies Centre (CINVESTAV) Campus Saltillo.
